Automotive Promotional Displays offers vehicle ramps

During the early 1970's a friend of mine, Frank, owned a corporation called Haulmore Manufacturing and was making flatbed, stake bed, and utility truck bodies for the local dealers of Nissan, Toyota, Ford, and Chevy small trucks.  Furthermore he was taking the small trucks and doing body lifts then putting huge tires on them.  He would put in cloth seats, light bars, grill guards, etc. on them and do impressive paint jobs on them with flames and designs, etc.  Kearny Mesa Toyota was one of his purchasers whom he modified 2  trucks for each week.  Being based right off of Hwy 163 they had first-rate exposure to the traffic.  After the highway department made a wall along the side of the expressway you could no longer see them as well.  One of the staff asked Frank if he could build a stand, rack, or platform of some kind to lift up the truck's up so you could notice them from the freeway.  {After building a platform and setting it up, for the next four weeks the customer said, “I drove along the freeway and you can truly see the truck on the platform.  A patron came in and said he saw the car from the road.  A consumer saw it, came in and bought it off the rack.  On the fourth week he said, “You should be constructing these platforms for everyone.”  Frank then took a couple of photographs of the display and went to his other clients and showing them the shots said, “Keep two of my vans on your location and I will loan you one of these automotive displays.”  Toyota of El Cajon said, “Give me 4 and I will store 8 of your vehicles on our lot.”  After going to each and every one of his clients and establishing the racks Frank thought that he had taken care of everyone.|After completing the rack and getting it set up, for the four weeks after, a customer explained to Frank that it was wonderful being able to observe the autos on the display rack from the highway.  A shopper saw the truck from the toll road and came in and bought it right off the stand!  Four weeks later, the owner of the car lot said to Frank "you have got to start putting these in all the car dealerships around town. So Frank took some pictures and shared them to all his clientèle..
One winter day in early 1980 I strolled into Frank’s company to go to see him, and as I did the headset rang and the secretary answered and put the person on hold and informed me to hang on, she would be right back.  She came back  and said no one was there and the person on the telephone wanted to know about the car stands.  I did not know all about them but told her I would talk to him.  It was somebody from Volkswagen in Salt Lake City, UT.  He thought he had seen our car stand while in San Diego and wished for some information about them.  I talked to him in relation to how they have been effective and he said he needed one so I got his name, address, and phone number.  When Frank returned I told him I had talked to a individual that had called in and he needed one of the car stands handing him the note.  Frank said, “I’ll reimburse you for that”, and I said, “Give me the call.”

In the beginning it was sluggish as no one knew what I was talking about when I called them and told them what we had that would help them make more sales and I would mail them a couple of photographs.  One dealer in Southern California said he liked them but was not sure and after talking for a few minutes four or five times over a few days I told him I would bring two of them up and set them up on his lot for thirty days.  After thirty days he could tell me, get them out of here or pay me for them.

Thirty days later I gave him a call and he said, “I have good news and bad news.  We require these 2  and 2  additional the same as them.”  I said, “OK, what’s the bad news?”, and he asked, “Can we do the same thing with 4 of them at the new Mitsubishi store.  I know they want them, they just want thirty days to pay.”  I said, “Sure, what’s the bad news?”

Over the years I have had thousands of people buy one to try the vehicle rack out and then buy more.  The Chrysler Zone Office in Houston, TX acquired five of the automobile display racks and position them out at vehicle washes.  Having good luck with them they then purchased 70 additional and we shipped them to different dealers in their zone, some got one, and some two, three, and some 4.

One day I got a phone call from someone in New York that said he checked out one of our racks in San Francisco, CA on his way through and wanted to know if we could ship it to Guam.I said we could and have since shipped them quite a few.
By now, we have shipped our car stands all over the planet to very satisfied clients in many countries.
